Clown Doctors

Our Mission

The mission of Operação Nariz Vermelho is to bring joy to hospitalized children, their families, and hospital professionals through the art and image of the Clown Doctor.
Since 2002, this service has been offered to hospitals and funded by the community through private and corporate donations.
According to the healthcare professionals who participated in the study “Laughter is the Best Medicine,” after interacting with the Clown Doctors:
92% of children forget they are in a hospital;
85% report that children cooperate more with treatments or examinations;
99% of parents say they wish the Clown Doctors would visit the children more often.
